Grievances at Work

Grievances are concerns, problems or complaints that employees raise with their employer. There is no legally binding process that you or your employer must follow when raising or handling a grievance at work. However, there are some principles you and your employer should observe.

If you are having a problem with your employer or supervisors, we offer wide a range of services to advise and support you. Have a chat with us first before you make it official with your employer. Most times, just a open and honest conversation with a reasonable employer is all that is needed to resolve a dispute.

Your employer should arrange an initial meeting at a reasonable time and place to discuss your grievance. You should make every effort to attend the meeting and tell them how you feel. Never ever lose you temper, even if your employer or supervisor sacks or threatens to sack you. Email us or contact us as soon as you can for advice and support.
